The reason.

The internet has brought many more ways to consume media, lots of commentators from many places. Yet over this time there has not been a large increase in trained journalists to match. We have seen new forms of fearmongering, misinformation and 'angertainment' appear, some from concerned folks, but much from those that seek profit from creating division. This doesn't help strengthen our democracy.

Examples of this in our nations past...

  • Give Women the Vote = Breakdown of society.
  • Mabo land rights = We will loose our backyards.
  • Stolen Generation Apology = Will cost us billions.
  • Marriage Equality = People will marry animals, social chaos, more headbutting.

None of this of course happened...

This simple two page site has a few resources to help skip that vibe.

Why 'dontknowvoteno.com'?

In mid Sept 2023 I was surprised to find this domain had not been taken, even though it was very late in the campaign and a widely used slogan. I thought it's a nice 'cheeky Aussie larrikin' way to use it's familiarity to help folks find less divisive commentary and information.

The who.

This site is run by a single Australian citizen who is concerned about the direction of the media, is not and has never been a member of any political party and who votes for independents as it helps strengthen our democracy.

The Site.

This site acknowledges Australian's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, learn, work and play. We pay our respect to their Elders, past present and future, and to our shared path ahead.

This basic website created with the open source Publii program (I mention this only as I like the program and seek to support the 'little guy').

100% Made by a human. No AI input.
